Flashing a Manjaro Pinephone
-
If I buy a pinephone that comes with the manjaro distro, will I be able to put Ubuntu Touch on it with out any problems? Also, how polished/buggy is UT on a pinephone compared to a opo1?

@Edward-Wilhelm
Hi, yes you can put UT to any Pinephone.
It's not complex, you just have to flash a SD card as you do for a raspberry.
Or you can boot up the phone and directly write to the eMMC (internal storage). For the second part of your question, I don't have an OPO, but the Pinephone still needs work to get fully functional (as in Nexus5, OPO, ...)
See this thread : https://forums.ubports.com/topic/4950/pinephone-as-a-daily-driver-test-report -
@Edward-Wilhelm It's easy peasy! Writing from a Pinephone that camed with Postmarket OS. Booted for 2 days UT from the SD card and then written and booted from eMMC.
Do not expect to run it as a daily driver, yet!
@AppLee Thanks for sharing my thread! -
I also ordered a Pinephone today.
In the version with 3 Gb Ram.
Delivery expected in November.
I hope that UT will be ready to use it as a daily companion by then.I will definitely need support to switch from Manjaro to UT.
With kind regards

@C0n57an71n Hello, yes it was really easy to get the UT on the Pinephone. I was really surprised. It runs on my RC channel, but it hasn't been updated for a month. Thanks for the very good instructions.
I hope that after OTA 14 the updates will come regularly again.with best regards

@AppLee Sorry, but for quite some time I am no longer able to get a working system with ubports on sd card.
Many other distros do correctly boot, but not ubports!
