Unfortunately the current Lyft webapp is not particularly functional, and it is beyond my skills to fix it, but the much greater limitation is that really a native UT app using Lyft's api needs to be coded - and that is something that we would likely need the help of Lyft itself to help develop.

I think the main problem may be (if I read correctly) that GPS shuts off intermittently, which I assume occurs in browser. That means once it connects to a driver if the user "disappears" Lyft assumes the user cancelled the ride and starts looking for another driver, charging the passenger. So it does work, I think outdoors, but perhaps the WiFi affects it (I'd have to test it again outside the house.)

I think Lyft's API is open but I could be wrong.

EDIT: I was wrong, you have to request access to the API.

UPDATE: away from wifi, the webapp worked! Got a ride successfully. Feeling good with this phone now!

That's great to hear. Glad the simple Webapp I made was useful to someone else (and sorry about the earlier flub with it).

@TotalSonic I used to do Uber and Lyft. I've been using it as a test case. It's good on data. (Maybe Wifi, drivers cancel and I wasn't charged this time.) The browser app isn't as good as the main app-- but it's good enough. I bought a Nexus 4 for $35 to have an Ubuntu phone. This'll work till we make it better!
