@fulvio For me on Volla, Just to point out. Tedit does not seem to work in RC and DEV at the moment. It saves blank files (0 byte) in encryption mode or not.
I don't know if the problem is there on other smartphones.

@fulvio Thank you. I had indeed thought that maybe, the new qt might have had its share of responsibility. Perhaps @dobey could help you to make Tedit old and new qt compatible.

@domubpkm I just installed tedit from OpenStore, and it is working fine here on my Nexus 4 with devel. I typed some text, chose Save in the menu, gave it a name, and the file was created in the tedit data directory with the content.

So perhaps there is some other issue if this only happens on Volla phone?

@dobey I confirm the problem on BQ M10 tablet RC channel. Strange thing for me, i had a .txt file in .local/share/tedit.fulvio with a size. I opened the file with no problem before in stable channel. Now, in RC channel the size of the file is shown as 0 bytes !

Edit : it is as if tedit in RC channel deletes the content of the file because when viewing the file with document viewer, the file is actually empty!

@dobey You're right, indeed, it seems that the file is well created: I looked again in Tedit's directory just after writing and saving.

But, I confirm that the content of the file is automatically reset to zero when reopened, which made me believe that the content of the file was never saved.

@domubpkm Have you tried to take a text file from the PC and put it in the Tedit folder and see what happens...?

I used tedit for a long time. I have a lot of notes, but after last update every old file i try to open is set to size zero and all content is deleted.
It works fine before the last update...

@stefwe Try one thing, you go to Ut Tweak tools and go to the Tedit app and just clear the cache,
reboot NO, turn off the phone and then turn on,
see if it shows the notes...

for security go into the Tedit app folder and copy all the notes to the PC, you see if the PC reads your notes with an app that works with .txt
on Ubuntu the Pluma app for example.

                              Regards...

@fulvio OK. I'm not sure why it works on 5.9 and not on 5.12, but I'm pretty sure the problem is the QFile::Truncate flag at https://github.com/fulvio999/tedit/blob/master/plugins/EdIt/mytype.cpp#L46

                                  Hi All, @domubpkm
Fixed version of Tedit just published in the Store. On BQ M10 FHD RC Channel works.
Thanks @dobey for your suggestion (without your help i was no able to fix that issue )

@fulvio Yes thanks to you for this update because Tedit becomes more than essential as uWriter is dead for OTA-16 and probably after OTA-16, except for an extraordinary remote distant future turnaround !

And of course more than thanks to @dobey who has always very sharp eyes to detect the origin of problems and provide solutions !!

I just tested on my BQ E5 HD which is always on OTA-15 and Tedit update works too.
