I am looking to find a good option for an Ubuntu Touch device that isn't over 5 years old and doesn't cost $700. I was looking at the Google pixel 3a, but that seemed to have SMS issues. Any suggestions on which device to get are welcome, but I'm mostly interested in just the answer to the stated question.
      Thanks!

@douglasaxyerface Your question is reading a little confused so we will leave this one here. If you want an answer for the Pixel 3 in particular please ask under the specific device here https://forums.ubports.com/category/54/google. Thanks

I use a nexus 6p it's great phone. My only complaint is the speaker phone on calls doesn't work. and video recording but other than that I love the phone. ubports is the best linux mobile operating system out there.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nexus-6P-UBUNTU-TOUCH-128GB-Aluminium-Unlocked/254811231674?epid=221802821&hash=item3b53eed5ba:g:RtwAAOSwht1f3Dkl

@augustblake Sorry but that link makes your post look a bit like a selling pitch for a 6p. Fine if it is but it should be in Off Topic. I can't check as the link is not working for me so probably best to remove the link if your not selling the item and just state that the device can be found easily on the well known e*** market place. If it is yours please move to OT. Thanks.

Additionally, while I also like the port for the Nexus 6P, it was released in 2015 and is therefore more than five years old. I also can't speak for the reliability of SMS and phone calls as it's not my daily driver.

If you want a new device the Volla phone ($450) might be worth looking into?
