UBports installer, success but always android
-
@flohack Hi, my question was specific to OPO3T with android7.
Until now, I have understood formatting partitions was to apply only to devices under android9 and over ?And an other question is why UBports-Installer report a full success and no error in terminal output ?
-
@libremax No the OP3/3t always needed it as here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/3253/oneplus-3-3t/616 most times cache and data does it wipe format EXT4 but sometimes system as well. So while there why not do it as @Flohack said.

@lakotaubp It's just a matter to clarify that point and for me it's also new that UBports-Installer in that situation report a full success and no error in terminal output.
Previously I have always seen report of errors and UBports-Installer not displaying success. -
@libremax It's been sometime since I installed new and I always got an error. If it's not showing any error or such then it probably needs pointing to Jan @NeoTheThird through the installer or github.
-
@lakotaubp I made it on github.
(I don't have OPO3T so I can't do it with installer, my questions here are just part of my "job" to help some people to get UT on their phone.) -
@libremax No problem thats what makes the community so good, people helping out each other as and when they can in whatever way they can Thanks for bothering and taking the time.

With TWRP:
In "Advanced wipe", "Repair File System" for partitions cache, data, system
Then Format EXT4 for partitions cache, data, systemResult: no change with UBports installer, display Success but don't reboot and when reboot is forced, it only displays OnePlus logo and "Powered by android".
Any other idea ?

@libremax So data and cache are fully wiped and then formatted to ext4, reboot then run installer, yes. Are the wipe option and bootstrap option ticked.
-
@lakotaubp It's default so I am pretty sure it has not be unticked by the operator.

@libremax Just trying to think what I did with twrp. Wipe option, format data-select yes, then in advanced wipe repair change system and data to ext4 then reboot. Then just ran the installer with wipe and bootstrap, booted to fastboot then recovery for the rest. I do remember it took ages for the spinning circles to appear to say it was flashing the device. Remember thinking it had not worked at first. Maybe leave it a little longer rather than force reboot but bit confused I must admit.
