I am hoping to install Ubuntu Touch on my onn tablet, however it is not on the supported devices list, I was curious if it was possible to install Ubuntu Touch regardless of support status and if so what are some of the risks that should be considered. If this is impossible then I was wondering if it would be possible for me to port Ubuntu Touch on my device, I was considering this as I enjoy tinkering with my devices however I posses rudimentary programming skills in Lua and C++ and am unsure if it would be possible for me to accomplish such a task, I was also curious if Ubuntu Touch was a good choice for a Linux mobile OS as I was also considering Plasma Mobile among others. Thank you for any help you can provide, thanks for reading 🙂

I'd like to take it a step further. Are their any pad devices that you can install Ubuntu Touch on? I'm in the process of de-Appling my house and I want to get rid of my iPad Air.

@ryuHi, I moved you post as the questions are a more General than on a port itself. Ports are device specific so you can't just put UT from one on another. You would need to port your device, info is here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps though it is not easy. Have a look and if you start plenty of advice and help will be available.
As for the second part of your question of course we think UT is the choice to make 😉

@lt-dillinger - the only tablets currently supported are the Nexus 7 2nd gen 2013 models (which I don't really recommend as they are pretty buggy and laggy with it), the BQ Aquaris M10 HD & M10 FHD, and the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet (SGP771 & SGP712), and there is an alpha build for the Pine64 PineTab as well. It would indeed great to see more tablet devices supported in the future - we just need some folks to port more of them.

              Best regards,
              Steve Berson
