@udengoogle I must admit I have never got round to doing this but keep meaning too. I have no idea if there are plans to build it into one of the updates or via the installer.

@udengoogle First i must say i didn't see your device is listed in the logo page, in first line :grinning_face_with_sweat:

So bootlogo is ready for your device like you saw yourself.

Second, Ubuntu Touch is a community project, so not only core devs can improve it, and bootlogos are trivial enough for not being a priority for them, and be done by other members of comunity.

Now if you want your fresh installed new logo be part of the ubports ubuntu touch image for your device, you can ask it on a ticket on ubports git.

Hello! I love the idea of this and have tried a number of times to do it but have had no success. The website instructions are not very enlightening for novices such as me:
            OnePlus One 3/3T
            Use Teamwin recovery
Use the recovery.zip and flash through recovery

I have downloaded the splash.zip file to my phone and tried both the Ubuntu and Android recovery options to no avail.
I can find no meaningful info on installing TWRP on a UT Touch powered OnePlus One 3T. The following error E: couldn’t load bitmap icon_error (error -7) appears at the UBports Recovery window. The options presented there are again rather vague. I have 2pcs running Linux Mint successfully for the past 12 months or so, so this is rather frustrating 😞 Any pointers very appreciated 🙂

Is it a One or a 3 or a 3T? The brand is called OnePlus. The first model is called OnePlus One. Confusing, I know!
              I suspect yours is either a OnePlus 3 or a OnePlus 3T.

Any takers on making the installation of the UbPorts logo for the Oneplus 3T a bit clearer for a newbie? Any help appreciated 🙂

@moem I have managed to load TWRP and have added the splash.zip file to TWRP folder on the device. in attempting to install it under "Install Zip" i receive the following warning:
"This operation may install incompatible software and render your device unusable"

Is this a standard Don't Hold Us Accountable If Our Software Kills Your Device? Or have i wandered in to a minefield?

@alan-adale Sorry but you are asking the wrong person. I haven't any knowledge of your device, beyond knowing that a Oneplus 3T is not a Oneplus One. Also I have never needed to do anything special to get a specific boot splash image.

@alan-adale I would ignore the warning and carry onit just makes you stop and double check what you are doing, in this case it is just a bootsplash image and I think you can trust the source. Though might be best to back up stuff just in case If that does not work try unpacking the zip file?
I still have not tried this as my OP3 has not been used for some time.

@lakotaubp Flashed the zip file and it worked and now shows the OPO Ubuntu Touch flash screen! Yay! However, it now will only boot into twrp! one step forward two steps back 🙂

@alan-adale Even if you go into TWRP recovery and reboot system from there?

@lakotaubp it boots to the UT spash screen then goes black followed shortly bt two white lights near the fingereprint screen and then back into twrp 🙂

@lakotaubp evidently I've somehow managed to remove the OS! Reinstalling using UBPorts installer failing each time... "connection lost"

@alan-adale That sounds like the data and cache need wiping and fomating again to me

@lakotaubp Thanks. I’ve read some articles about reinstalling the stock OPO OS via fastboot and then retrying to install UT. Steep learning curve 🙂

@alan-adale You shouldn't need to reinstall the stock OP OS. Just boot to TWRP recovery and in advanced wipe options (iirk) you clear and data and format to ext 4 then just use the UBport installer. Or firstly just try a different usb cable and the UBports installer, then try the rest.

@lakotaubp Well, I am now in the interesting position of having the Ubuntu Touch boot screen and OPO's Android OS! Lol... it's been an education to end up with the exact opposite of what I was originally trying to achieve 🙂

It's a pity UBTouch can't be loaded by TWRP. I will try UBPorts installer again, probably not tonight. i believe my cable is ok... in my recent reading i came across there being an issue with Linux and UBPorts installer tho i didn't investigate further at that point as that wasn't my immediate problem then.
