Installing Ubuntu.Components on desktop?
Hey everyone ,
I have developed a few apps for UT now and would like to take a bigger advantage of Ubuntu.Components . The Issue im currently having is making testing convenient though. My current method is to compile each time I want to test something, which obviously takes ages.
So here is my question: How can I conveniently use Ubuntu.Components in development? Is there a deb?
Clickablesupports running on the desktop via
clickable desktopcommand. It's limited though as some things won't work such as content hub.
Also, it may be better to use QQC2 instead of Ubuntu components. The toolkit isn't maintained much and may not be part of the future of UT.
@kugiigi Arent great parts of many UT apps made using Ubuntu.Components? BottomEdge, popups, toolbars and all that kind of stuff is included in it, or have I misunderstood something here?
@aarontheissueguy Yes that is true but since UT was dropped by Canonical, the toolkit has only been maintained just to make sure it's working so nothing substantial. And there's also no plan as far as I know, to pushing it forward. QQC2 is more future-proof at the moment. But of course, feel free to still use Ubuntu components. They're still fine as it is now
