@aribk Sorry not quite sure what this post is for, it appears to be just a link to an existing post.

A port for the LG G4 is now available for testing using the UBports installer. The port has not been released officially through the installer yet, but it can be installed by using the installer from the command line, as described below.

            1. Download and install the UBports installer. https://github.com/ubports/ubports-installer/releases/tag/0.8.8-beta
            2. Download the installer config file: https://github.com/abkro/H815
            3. From the command line, issue the following command:
              ubports-installer -f <path-to-h815,.yml>
            4. Follow the instructions.

Note that you may have to remove and replace the battery after being in bootloader, when you subsequently need to boot into recovery.

The device page for the LG G4 will get updated (minor changes) shortly.

A few known issues worth noting are:

            • wifi authentication is not remembered across boots
            • bluetooth starts, but does not work properly yet
            • after being connected to an external monitor (cabled connection/slimport) some of the icons at the top of the screen may be displayed with incorrect scaling.

                Hi @pembukaan and welcome.

Is it possible to run in h818p?

Every device shall have a custom port.
If your device is not listed in https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/ then it'll need a custom port.
See there for documentation about porting : https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps

I am interested in the LG G4 as well but there are several variants. It appears the port is making progress

                  https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/h815/

but it is currently listed as inactive. Whatever, this means I hope work on these devices continue.

@beta Hello, since LG has stopped the unlock service since Dec 31 2021, I had to unlock using UsU. The bootloader was unlocked successfully, and it booted into android. The UBports installer reported no error. The recovery installed and all good up to here. Then after the installing update screen, it showed the Demigod SOC crash.
Somewhere in the very long UsU xda post, there is this:

Optional (not needed when you flash an UsU compatible ROM later) Flash the baseband package now: <model>_UsU_baseband_flash-in-twrp.zip

So the solution was to flash the baseband package in TWRP.

LG unlock tool (the post I referred to):

                      Baseband package:

May the source be with you
