MMS on the OnePlus 5
-
Hey all,
I am wondering how you fellas have managed to get UT to handle MMS (for pictures) properly on the OP5. I have spend around a week trying to do this, switching SIM cards and all, to no avail. I underestimated how much MMS is still used today (ugh).
Anywho, I have T-Mobile, if that helps.I have tried to do the recommended generic, and the Android APN settings a la fast.tmobile outlined here, to no avail:
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/not-sold-by-t-mobile/byod-t-mobile-data-and-apn-settingsHas anyone figured it out?

@nocturn-adrift There is something to try a few posts up from the bottom in this thread https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5100/the-mms-lost-story/133

@nocturn-adrift For now I am chalking up the OP5 as "not working" regarding MMS. I am confused as to why the UBPorts for the device advertises the device as "working" for MMS when it does not out-of-the-box. Maybe it works on some dev channel somewhere, I am not sure. I find the practice a bit deceptive.
Am I wrong, is this just a freak issue for me alone? I am curious as it seems no one else has brought it up for the device. Calling on you, fellow OP5 UT users. I wish to know.

@nocturn-adrift SMS is not an issiue for me on OP5 it has always worked as for MMS I must admit to not trying it yet. It has always been a bit hit and miss. There is now https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6510/mms-users-call-for-testing/16 to produce a solution.

@lakotaubp
@jezek and @lduboeuf work is not for MMS not working on any device, it's for MMS retrieval when data is off and some MMS is queued by provider, that for now gets lost.Beside that MMS always worked very well on my MX4.
Now we can talk about the USA providers situation for data and MMS... (and shutting down 3G, not supporting GSM, segregating devices...) In the EU there is not such problems.

I'm in the Netherlands and my provider (T-mobile) no longer offers MMS.

@moem
Well, that's an other problem than some provider MMS not working on some UT devices even if still activated on their network... No?Now maybe i should've say "France" and not "EU" but from what i can read on this forum, most if not all uT users that have problem with MMS that should work but won't work, comes from USA.

I agree, it's not the same problem.

@lakotaubp I meant to say MMS instead of SMS, my mistake, fixing now
