USA: can anyone confirm Halium 9 devices can reliably receive SMS?

We are going around in circles on the Pixel 3a sub forum trying to figure out why for USA carriers we can not reliably receive SMS messages (this is NOT about MMS, that is "another fish to fry" down the road).

So to set a base understanding, can anyone confirm that with a USA carrier (ANY carrier) you can reliably receive SMS messages with a Halium 9 based device?

@ljrichards1066 thanks for confirming. Mint is an AT&T reseller, correct? Others feel free to keep replies coming of what carrier / Halium 9 devices give reliable incoming SMS.

@rik Mint is T-mobile. I also have reliable SMS, but no MMS on a P2XL on US Mobile (t-mobile sim)

I am reliably receiving and sending SMS via T-Mobile on Volla Phone.
