      Hi all,
New to the forum but I have been using a Nexus 5 as my daily driver for a month and I am a huge fan of Ubuntu Touch. However, the glaring issue for me is that the mobile network signal is diabolical. Its not great in my particular area as parts of London (and the rest of the UK) are still in the dark ages, however, I have never had a problem on many phones including old flip phones and so on. However, with the nexus 5 I am needing to lean out the window to have a phone call. I also would like a bit more grunt from the device, just to make anbox run a tad more smoothly.

I am just wondering if anyone had any experience with different devices. Leaning towards the 3a XL, just wondering if the XL as well as the standard 3a is supported by the installer? Failing that, i've always loved using Xiaomi phones so would happily go down this root as well.

      Any advice welcomed. Thanks!

@jthurloe In my experience in central Kent signal strength is more a matter of the network than the phone. On my Nexus 5 only one of the major networks (Vodafone) gives any signal at all, and even then it is weak.

Are you using the same SIM as your previous phone?

@cliffcoggin yeah, same sim and provider. Just plonked out of the old phone and in to this one. Lebara, which I think is an MVNO running off of Vodafone. Typically Vodafone and EE are best in my flat.
