I have a BQ E5 HD Ubuntu Edition phone since the beginning of the Ubuntu Touch days and have been using the new UBports version for about a year now 🙂
      .
      .
      But...
      .
      .
There is one thing that really bothers me :
      .
Why is there no way to edit my SIM Contacts or anything stored on my SIM in general ?!

In another thread someone mentioned the lack of a "SIM Toolkit" ??
      .
      .
      .
      P.S. :
YES, I know this is a weird question in the days of people constantly syncing their Contacts with some kind of online or self hosted service 😉

      My phones :

      • BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Phone Edition - Ubuntu Touch 16.04 LTS
      • ZUK Z2 Pro - ZUI Android 8.x
      • Xiaomi Mi 9T - Jolla SailFish 3.4.x Community Build

      P.S. : I am NOT a developer! ;)

@nero355 There is one thing you can do even if it's a bit of tinkering: export the contacts (.vcf file) and read this file with the Tedit app after pasting it into the Tedit file directory.

I know but that still leaves me with every Contact on the phone I think and not the SIM card ones ?
          .
The problem is that the SIM card is still the large size one or at least one of the larger sized ones so I can't insert in one of my other phones and quickly edit everything on it... 😕
          .
And let's be honest here : Any phone OS should be able to do this! 🙂

At least in contact app, in settings, you can imprort contacts from SIM.
Then you can edit imported SIM contacts in contact app.

Importing the Contacts is no issue at all 😉

The problem is you are left with just the Contacts on the phone and the Contacts on the SIM card are unreachable...

Yes you can't edit or add contacts on the SIM, but no you're not left with only phone contacts as you can import SIM contacts (so they are reachable in this way), i don't really undertsand your problem here.

Even if it's not directly on your SIM, you can access then edit contacts from it.

BTW i don't use online sync or whatever, only contact app, and if i have to export phone contacts to another phone, i use "export as VCF" thing.

You want to save your contacts to the SIM card ?
                  It is not possible afaik.

                    I have noticed! :grinning_squinting_face:

I do the same thing when there is no other option 😉
