      Hi.

I posted a while back about the torch having never worked on my FP2 with Ubuntu Touch. Maybe the same issue is connected to the camera flash not working? I've actually never tried to use the flash before. Yesterday, I needed more light and enabled the flash, but nothing happened.

      Is there any fix?

      Thanks.

That is unfortunately consistent with the status of the port, as listed on the device page.

        Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1 and a BQ E4.5. And an Xperia X. Please, someone... make it stop.

Hi @moem. Thanks for the link. It says 'partial' for torch & camera flash but I've never had either work at all. 🤔

              I should have mentioned my UT version earlier - it's 16.04 OTA-19.

How would I know? I don't have a Fairphone. I just checked the devices page, that's all. 🤷

Oups... I though you ported some halium 9 uTouch on FP2 too, my bad... 😅

Ok after checking i see there is a halium 7.1 beta test (dev channel) topic here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6021/halium-7-1-test-channel

Maybe that worth a try for the OP.

@keneda @keneda Thanks. However, I don't even know where to begin with Halium 7.1. 😕

That's quickly explained: go to Updates (in the system settings screen), tap the cog wheel to get to settings. Tap 'Channels' and
switch to halium-devel as an update channel. Get updates. Reboot and see if that fixes the flash issue. It did for me on Op1!

@moem I just hope it doesn't cause more issues that it fixes. At the moment everything is fine bar the torch and camera flash not working -- those aren't deal breakers. I will consider the update. 🙂

@opolork If it causes issues for you, you can move back. It's not permanent or irreversable.

@moem I did that. The torch still doesn't work. Now, the camera doesn't work - it just shows a black screen. 😞

@moem Absolutely. I wonder if there's any other steps I should take? Maybe try another update channel or just go back to the original channel I was on?

I uninstalled and installed the Camera & Torch apps to see if that would help - no joy.

Hello, after moving to the halium devel channel you need to do a wipe re install. Backup your things before! Then the app camera will work and so do the flash. But not the torchlight. You will also experience better performances. I think Flohack is in cjarge of this port and did a very good job. For myself I am back to stable for the only reason that in halium devel the camera app does not name the pics with date and hours but only incremential numbers. Let us know if this works for you!
