I don't think anyone would want that, if only because of the high price and breaking the warranty. But is it possible to install and run Ubuntu Touch on iPhone?

@anonymoustly I have moved your post to OT https://forums.ubports.com/topic/206/will-you-port-to-device-x you answer your own question in the most part but iirc at one time it was a complete non starter to get anything running on one. I think some have made a little progress but as it is so hard to do and locked in to Apple why bother when there are easier and therefore better (whichever version of better fits your ideas) devices to port.

            Hi @anonymoustly

I think the topic was already raised.
The classical way of porting Ubuntu Touch is to use the kernel of Android and using HAL via Halium project we can "easily" mate the interfaces.

Now for Apple's products it would be another story.
One would need to find how to talk with the firmwares. It is called reverse engineering.
Basically you try to snoop on what iOS send to the various firmwares and then try to understand what it should be so you can mimic it for Ubuntu Touch.
Then the porter has to develop a software brick to make Ubuntu Touch talk to the firmwares.
This is tricky and very hard to maintain but doable if one is motivated enough 😉

@anonymoustly There's project sandcastle who's working on getting android on iphone and postmarketos can boot on iphone 7/7+ thx to it 😄 ( see https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Apple_iPhone_7/7%2B_(apple-iphone7) ). Afaict nothing but the display really works yet, though. I guess if this ever properly works, it'll be a tad bit easier to port UT to, but someone will still have to do it ofc.
