The new web site is great! However, I do not feel we are being honest with users about devices.

Third on the supported list is "Nexus 5: the convergent phone", however this should surely now be marked as approaching end of life?

Fifth on the supported list is "PinePhone: power to the community", which may be fine for those involved in development, but is not now a usable phone, and may never be so...

I am not sure how to get to other devices at the time of writing, however I do think it is time that more proiminence is given to the excellent community ports which do work and are nearly complete, like the Sony Xperia X and Google Pixel 3a (thanks to fredldotme!).

Users are surely going to get a much better experience from these than from some of the "supported" devices.

        Keep up the good work!

        Chris

Yeah, you are not wrong... this clearly needs an update, and as far as I know that is being worked on.

          Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

@cj_c This has been mentioned and discussed in two previous Q&As (please check previous Q&A Blogs) and as @Moem stated it is actively being looked at and changes will be made. However the final decision on which devices are or are not in an end of life situation has yet to be made. We also know many people have an emotional attachment to some of the original devices and early ports so that final decision will not be taken lighty.

You are right on a couple of things though, there are many new and exciting ports and devices on https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io and that is really where people should now be looking for an Ubuntu Touch device. Also that the new website looks great. Thanks to all involved in that.

Does Anbox work on all devices (if any still)? I'm considering switching but losing access to Android apps would be a huge blow. The device I currently have is a Oneplus 5 FWIW.

Here's a suggestion: start a new thread, tell us which apps you would miss most, and we'll see whether we can find you some possible solutions.

@moem that's right, but we almost know which ones are what the main ones, so, we are ready to fill the gap on solutions. Do not worry

Do we? Not everyone has the same needs and wants. To almost know something is... almost enough. Which means: not enough 😉

                      Do not worry

I'm not worrying. I'm trying to help.

@moem haha these language barriers are so funny, I have the same problem every time. I was referring to the fact that, the apps that @Tomat0 may need, can mention them, and we can help him to know what can replace them or how can be installed (in case that waydroid might be needed), so Tomat0 doesn't need to worry about it.

Hello @ubportsnews I've got an question for Marius this week https://twitter.com/Mariogrip/status/1461739487915089923
Yesterday Marius announced on twitter he has managed to run lomiri on debian. Can you tell us more about how mature lomiri is on debian? And how can we install lomiri on debian? 🙂

We were low on time this week and the questions asked here were on projects that are mostly out of my control, so they wouldn't make for good content.
