-
Hi all,
Does anyone know how can I install mozilla firefox browser?Does anyone know how to install signal Instant messaging app?
Any app for that matter.

@6mv
Firefox you'll have to install it through libertine for linux native one, or under waydroid for android based one.For signal it's the same, plus you can try openstore ut native app wich is axolotl i believe.

@keneda Hi Keneda, and thank you.
I don't really know how to do either of those. When I select libertine via settings, system it's empty and says no packages are installed.
How do I find the correct firefox and signal packages? Can I type something specific?Ta,

@6mv Try this https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5810/using-firefox-with-ut-in-2021 thread it may help.

under waydroid
Oneplus 3/3T doesn't run Waydroid... Waydroid requires Halium 9 or 10.

That is the option I would recommend. It has some missing features but used in tandem with Signal Desktop on a laptop or PC it works pretty well, and it's being actively developed and improved at a nice speedy pace lately.

Look at the Open Store, it comes preinstalled on your Ubuntu Touch and it's full of native apps. They will generally run a lot better than anything you can run in Libertine.

Hi @moem and thanks.
I am really not literate with Linux. Just had enough with google, thus any tutorial or step by step instructions would be really appreciated.
I didn't find signal app in open store, nor Firefox.I can't see anything within Libertine; how do you operate/browse apps?

That's right, they aren't there. The Signal app in the Open Store is called Axolotl; give that a try, I use it every day.
The default browser on UT is Morph. There is no browser that works better on UT.I can't see anything within Libertine; how to you operate/browse apps?
I have never used it, but I can point you to the documentation:
https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/libertine.html
But keep in mind that it is mostly a stop gap method. Native apps are the best option, if they exist. -
Hi @moem
That axolotl is it as safe as Signal? Does it feed anything to anyone? Signal keeps the encrypted data on your device and doesn't share anything, yet... -
