Update failed SignatureError

I opened my Volla Phone today which is on Ubuntu 16.04 (OTA-14) and tried to update the phone and keep getting the following error:
Update failed

Any idea what my issue is? Is there any other methods for updating Ubuntu Touch? Thanks in advance.

@jds-ubt First thing if you switch of and restart willit boot back into UT? Also which channnel are you on I'm not familier with Volla but we are on OTA-20 for the stable channel at present. Which version of the installer? please try 0.8.8 or .9 it could just be a server error or some such.

Thanks for the response.

Yes

I’m on the “stable” channel. When I try to update from the phone, it tells me downloading “Version 7”, that’s the one giving me the error message.

I’ve tried both 0.8.8 and 0.8.9 and they both hang during the firmware flashing phase.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm running the UBports Installer on a Mac running Mac OS 10.13.6.

@jds-ubt I know nothing about mac but if you can and have a spare usb stick try using that and running Ubuntu from it. Macs can be a bit tricksey iirc.
The other thing have you tried download the RC or devel channel and see if they work. RC is currently what will be the next stable on the 5th anyway. -

@jds-ubt Perhaps stick with that until OTA-21 is released on the 5th then switch back to stable which is what your current RC will become. If you find any problems you did not have before report them here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/7174/ota-21-call-for-testing-companion-post/10

@lakotaubp Sorry I was having issues editing my post. It should have read:
I tried using the RC channel, downloaded "Version 45”, on the phone and it returns a similar error:

Wanted to provide an update.
I didn't have a USB drive large enough to have both Ubuntu and the Installer installed. So I had to find my old PC. I finally got Ubuntu installed. That fixed the issue, I'm updated to OTA-21 now!
Thanks for the help @Lakotaubp
