Maybe you should consider buying a Pixel 3a/XL instead of N5.
The P3a is fully supported (all working 100%) and is way more recent hardware.
And moreover it'll receive 20.04 update for sure.

UT support calls sms and mms in any country that still support 2G and 3G networks, with any device that supports those countries network frequencies (device sold for those countries).

UT will support call in countries that dropped 2G and 3G, and now only support VoLTE (calls over 4G bands) when VoLTE will be implemented in UT (heavy work in progress).
But for that, device has to support VoLTE, wich N5 is not, and P3a is.

If you talk about N5, it has 4G capacities (=LTE), but only for data, not for calling over 4G (=VoLTE).

I don't know as i never did it on that device.
But it's a google one so unlocking bootloader is endorsed.
And a lot of people here use this device, so you will have lot of help for it.

I don't know very well OP1, i believe it may be able to receive 20.04 update, but i don't think it's VoLTE capable.

You should try to get infos of when 2G/3G is dropped in Russia, if not already done like in US.

MX4 was sold with UT preinstalled, and MX4 with android on it are very difficult to unlock as you have to kind of crack it.

But last time i installed i used UBports installer. I had some driver issue that i sorted "try and die" lol.

I'm pretty sure Nexus 5 can do VoLTE if running the latest radio firmware on it, and Android 6 or newer.
