Maybe you should consider buying a Pixel 3a/XL instead of N5.
The P3 is fully supported (all working 100%) and is way more recent hardware.
And moreover it'll receive 20.04 update for sure.I can only afford Nexus 5

@moran
Ah ok, sorry about that -
@keneda Damn he's really only 2g,3g

If you talk about N5, it has 4G capacities (=LTE), but only for data, not for calling over 4G (=VoLTE).

Are there any problems installing UT on px3a?
Example: unlock bootloader -
@moran
I don't know as i never did it on that device.
But it's a google one so unlocking bootloader is endorsed.
And a lot of people here use this device, so you will have lot of help for it.By the way, where do you live if i can ask ?
-
@keneda Russia
-
@moran
Ok, i don't know when 2g or 3g support will be ended in your country, but i can search that.Edit : but as i don't speak russian, my results where poor

there is another variant of OnePlus One
-
@moran
I don't know very well OP1, i believe it may be able to receive 20.04 update, but i don't think it's VoLTE capable.Edit : https://forums.ubports.com/topic/8014/oneplus-one-halium-9-port-in-the-works/4
You should try to get infos of when 2G/3G is dropped in Russia, if not already done like in US.
-
@keneda works now but not for long
-
@moran
Sad, here in France we have some couple of years ahead before drop (2g 2025, 3g 2028), we're lucky. -
@moran what about nexus 6p?
-
@moran
Can't tell, if i refer to device list it's a good one, but not 100% supported like P3a. -

-
@moran
I answered only what i can ^^
I'm a total Linux noob, i quite just can click on icons lol. -
@keneda ok, describe the installation of UT on meizu mx4?
-
@moran
MX4 was sold with UT preinstalled, and MX4 with android on it are very difficult to unlock as you have to kind of crack it.But last time i installed i used UBports installer. I had some driver issue that i sorted "try and die" lol.

But for that, device has to support VoLTE, wich N5 is not, and P3a is.
I'm pretty sure Nexus 5 can do VoLTE if running the latest radio firmware on it, and Android 6 or newer.

@moran
I suspect that I am among the last one in here that uses mine N6P as a daily driver. This means that there is little to none work going in to this device. This makes me guessing that the N6P will not make the move to 20.04. There are some hardware issues with this phone too, the biggest issue is that some of the phones have badly soldered cpu:s that makes the phone dropp the 4 big cores. There is another issue with the battery making the phone go in to a none ending bootloop. It is not impossible to change the battery, but it is not for the faint hearted. It has some problems with bluetooth and for a while now, when my battery goes below 50% and gets an incomming call, it hard crashes and the phone reboots, I don't konw if it is a hardware- or software failiure. I have used my phone for a couple of years now and over all I have been very pleased with the experience. I have been lucky to have a phone without the hardware failiures. but I have changed the battery once and it seems that maybe it needs a new one soon.- Probably, it is based on Ubuntu so...
- No, you will need to run it through a Libertine container running a terminal.
- Don't know.
- The list gets longer for every month that goes by. 5G is coming and it needs the bandwith.
