While I can open the system settings (and close them), they remain frozen: I cannot tap on any icons nor move the flight mode or rotation lock sliders. I don't now which version I'm using, it's the latest provided for the Volla Phone 22.

        Is there any trick?

Try powering off and on. This is not the same as rebooting.

P.S. I assume you did not change the channel and are in stable channel.

@bolly I switched it off and booted it later (sometimes booting other OSs in between) several times - still same problem. I did not knowingly change the channel, nor did I update the system as this cannot (or at least previously could not) be done from within UT. The version I use is the one dating from early September that is still provided by the Volla boot manager in Volla OS. Volla OS is the main OS, UT and Sailfish the second and third, both installed on an SD card.

@anna, I thought it was a "clean" install of Ubuntu touch, sorry but I don't know if it's a known bug. I have no experience with VollaOS.

Yes, I also thought it might be device-specific since the Volla Phone 22 is still relatively new. I opted for a re-installation (which is a quick and simple thing via the boot manager) and now the problem is gone -- I hope for good.
