Dekko 2 sync with Contacts
-
I have Dekko 2 working reasonably well on my One Plus One (though I have a number of suggestions on how to improve it...will leave that for later)...but how do I sync it with my Contacts when I am writing an email to somebody. At the moment I seem to have to type in the full name of the recipient rather than Dekko giving me suggestions from the Contacts? What am I missing?
-
@dunbrokin What I might be missing is that there is another way of doing what I am trying to achieve. Go to the Contacts App. Find the person's name, click on it...and then choose to email them, phone them or message them. It is just a different way (and in some ways more logical) than what I normally do i.e. go to the email client first and expect that the recipients name will be able to pop up on the correct location. So, I guess this is solved!

@dunbrokin
Yes, that's a good solution.
But....
How to send/share a photo with an email?
When I see an image in the gallery that I want to share, I do the following:- Click share in the photo viewer
- Choose Deco 2
- Enter address but it is not possible to select a contact
Is there a better way here?

@chris_bavaria : I see what you mean. That is indeed strange behavior. There is a share icon in Gallery, you can choose Dekko, Dekko opens but in Inbox view instead of opening a new mail with photo attached.
You can, however, send the photo by creating a new mail in Dekko and then add photo with paperclip. -
@alter
Adding it with the paper clip doesn't work for me, but thanks.
I discovered the following and this is how I will do it in the future:- Long click on a photo in the gallery and select multiple photos.
- Click share button
- Select Dekko 2, a new email with the attachments will open.
- Leave the email open and switch to the contact app and open the desired contact.
- Click here on the email address.
- The recipient is added to the email that is still open.
Now you can add more contacts in the same way.
Hope it helps someone. -
@chris_bavaria :
After looking at it again, I noticed the following: I can make an email and attach 1 or more photos in 2 ways:
Option 1:
Open Dekko2 email client, then open Gallery, long press the first photo so it gets selected, short press to select any other photos, then click Share button, a new mail opens with photos attached.
If you don't open Dekko2 first, then at Share it will just open Dekko2 instead of a new mail with the photo(s);
Option 2:
Open Dekko2 email client, create a new mail, click paperclip, a selection of apps is shown, choose Gallery app and select the photo(s), confirm your choice with the V-sign in the top to add.
Are you sure this doesn't work on your device? I would expect this to be the same on all devices.
Adding recipient email
This is indeed as you described. So go to the 'To'-field in your new email, you open Contacts app and click on the recipient's mail address, it adds the address to the mail in Dekko2. -
@alter
Yes, Option 1 and Option 2 work for me as you described.
The problem was how to select a recipient from the address book.Adding recipient email
This is indeed as you described. So go to the To field in your new email, open the Contacts app and click on the recipient's email address, it will add the address added to the email in Dekko2.This works with both options.
This has solved the issue for me too, thanks! -
@chris_bavaria : you're welcome, glad to be of help!
