First, thank you for the port. The phone works very fluid and it looks very promising. I read last week this post https://linmob.net/weekly-update-1-2023/ and there I found a reference to a a youtube video where someone was installing UB Touch on a Neo+ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxsnsSYKof4

It was funny because I was looking for some old Galaxy S## variant that I could use as a daily driver. I need little furniture. Only calls and sms and data so that I can run telegram. The only thing a little bit extra is bluetooth for car support calling that I need for my job. I need to make calls while driving.

But anyway it doesn’t have to be perfect at first-sight. I’ve managed to buy a second hand Neo+ in my local town after two days of quest. This morning I’ve rooted and flashed UB.

What I have found is that audio doesn’t work properly. I can not play a mp3 file. An incoming phone call does work properly with its soundable pretty ringtone. Also sms sound when received and teleports too. But with calls audio routing is broken, I can not hear and at the other end of the kine cannot hear me if I don’t activate the speaker. The internal speaker is not working…or I don’t know exactly how to describe it. The other problem comes with bluetooth. During the morning I was able to connect to External Bluetooth Speaker and I was able to detect it and pair and even playing a incoming call ringtone. But I wasnt able to reproduce mp3 music or ogg recording. Now during the afternoon I am not able to even switch bluetooth on properly and detect anything. I don’t know if it has anything to do with mobile data vs WiFi but in dispair I am starting to think about some firmware flashing that could be wrong…as it happened to me with a device that I upgrade from LineageOS 18.1 to 19.1.

@sturai if sound doesn't work, reboot the device. The S3 neo+ is not a complete port, it does have various issues, mainly the rear camera. Sound has been ok on my devices.

I must apologize because without knowing it happened that I have a jack from a headphone broken inside the jack port. I only realize a couple of hours ago after spending all the morning installing LineageOS 20 (alpha-unofficial) and also a return to custom ROM from Samsung. It was there that I spotted the headphone icon and I noticed perplexed that I have a broken jack inside the hole…I hope I am able to take it off tomorrow and see that everything related to sound works properly.

            Sorry.

@sturai You should be able to remove the motherboard and get the broken jack out of the earpiece hole.

@keneda Thank you for the tip. I wasn’t able to do that. I took the piece out from the phone that contains the jack but I wasn’t able to isolate it. There is a last connection that made me fear I was going to break it. I wil try with an eyebrows pinch or whatever is called.

@sturai Tweezers. It might be best to power the phone down before attempting to remove the remains of the jack as you may inadvertantly short out the audio output 🤓

@ian Finally instead of tweezers I have used silicon to take it out. Now sound is working. Great!
