WARNING: LOCK FLAG IS : UNLOCK, SKIP VERIFY!!!

If I remember correctly, you need to hold down the power button for at least 12 to 15 secs.
It will appear to turn off only to re start a few times in this period.
After approx 12-15 secs when the screen goes blank and you see a thin white line flash then let the button go and it should be "Turned Off"
Its about timing. I remember the first time it took a few goes.
As for the message, its only Info letting you know the bootloader is unlocked. I assume if you re lock the bootloader (how and if you can, I dont know) it will disappear.

If you boot into the bootloader and then recovery you will have the option to power off. Some devices with UT don't always power off and you have to use this method to ensure it is shut down.

I'm having the same problem.
A Former User, did you ever manage to get into recovery mode?
-
@cannonfodder Try sudo reboot -f recovery
-
@DenMoore As per the instructions in the UBports JingPad Ubuntu Touch install guide, the JingPad OS is no longer accessible so I can't get to a terminal emulator.
-
@cannonfodder Ok, so what OS is installed? Cheers
-
@DenMoore JingPad OS is installed but I am experiencing the scenario described in the UBports JingPad Ubuntu Touch install guide: the JingPad no longer loads the installed OS.
-
@cannonfodder Try the following. Turn off the pad completely. Once you are sure it has shut down, Hold the power button down, wait one second then hold the 'volume down button' as well until the Logo appears then release both buttons. It is all about timing. If you are too early/late with the volume button, then you have to power down again and try again.
It took me a few attempts at first. Also note the pad cannot be completely shut down if plugged into any power ie charger or computer.
What worked for me, was too boot into recovery (via buttons or command), then start the installer, select Pad manually, follow installer instructions and when the instruction is to boot into recovery, then plug the pad into the computer.
Hope this helps
Cheers
