    • Translating Android APN to Ubuntu Touch APN

On my old Android phone, the APN has the following fields:

      Name
      APN
      Proxy
      Port
      Username
      Password Server
      MMSC
      MMS Proxy
      MMS Port
      MCC
      MNC
      Authentication type
      APN type
      APN protocol
      APN roaming protocol
      APN enable/disable
      Bearer
      MVNO type
      MVNO value

My Ubuntu Touch phone has far fewer fields:

      Used For
      Name
      APN
      MMSC
      Proxy
      Proxy Port
      Username
      Password

How to these fields correspond to each other? Some are obvious (Name, APN, MMSC) but what about proxy and proxy port. Does MMS Proxy correspond to Proxy and MMS Port to Proxy Port?

      The carrier is AT&T prepaid.

    • RE: Cannot send MMS after first reboot

      @lakota Thanks.

I created a new thread for this issue since it is different from the one I started this thread with.

    • Cannot receive group texts

I am unable to receive group texts... except if I send a group text, I can receive replies to that group text, even if I delete the text thread.

      I can successfully send/receive MMS.

      Can anyone help?

      I have a Nexus 5 running Ubuntu 15.04 (r280). My carrier is AT&T prepaid.

I do not experience this issue if I switch the SIM card into my old Android phone, so I don't think it is a carrier issue.

@lakota Thanks. If I switch the SIM card to my old Android phone, I can get group texts with no problem.

      @lakota Ha Ha! You too.

Yes, that's what I meant. I can't get texts sent to multiple recipients.

@lakota I can send and receive MMS now, and I can send group texts, but can't receive group texts.

    • RE: Cannot send MMS after first reboot

After rebooting, I noticed that "Cellular Data" was no longer greyed out, but was disabled. I enabled it and was able to send MMS again.

I then performed an update "Ubuntu Version 3" and rebooted.

Now when I try to send an MMS, I get a little spinning icon next to the picture that won't go away. The message won't send.

Also, in the menu at the top of the screen, under Network, my connection is 4g, but in Cellular Settings it is listed as 2G/3G and I no longer have the option of choosing 2G or 2G/3G/4G.

    • Cannot send MMS after first reboot

I am having problems getting MMS messaging to work on my phone.

If I "Erase and Reset All" with my SIM card removed, then insert my SIM card while the phone is on, I am able to send MMS messages.

Under Cellular, Cellular data and Data Roaming are greyed out, because I don't have a data plan.

      The Connection Type is 2G/3G/4G

ATT Phone is selected as my "Internet and MMS" APN with the following settings pre-populated:
      Name: ATT Phone
      APN: phone
      MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
      Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
      Proxy port: 80
      User name: Enter Username
      Password: Enter Password

If I reboot, MMS messaging no longer works. When I try, I get the word "Failed" next to the image in red.
The same APN is still selected with the same settings.

Thanks for your replies. It seems to be working now, but I'm not sure why!
