      Dear all,

Does UT fundation has some stats about UT users (something comparable to what Linux Ubuntu did (https://ubuntu.com/desktop/statistics) : how many users and the distribution across the world, what langage do they use, what setup/cell phone do users have… ? From a marketing point of view that is relevant to know that kind of things.

Speaking of marketing, do you recommend a way of doing things when asking Android developers/organizations/internet players to adapt their App to OpenStore? How to hit the target ?
I was wondering if remind people about some stats could helps...

      Thanks

      Hello,
good news: I finally installed UT on my XperiaX device! So happy.
Thank you for your advices. I did clear the cache actually.
      Nevertheless, two points:

      • the blue light never appeared on the device... (white, green and red are working so is it possible that the blue is not?)
      • at the very end, after the installer's success panel explaining the "the installation process from the computer is done" I got an error message that I unfortunately did not manage to report (shame...)
But after switching on the device, both the "your devices is unlocked" and "Sony" logo appeared then UT starts! 🙂

IDK if those above points are problematics for the future but for the time being...Yeah!
I will test that device in the following days as a daily phone. (now, that looks better compare to my Nexus 4 16.04.
      Thank you again
      Best,

      Thanks for your reply.
Yes I did unlocked the bootloader (at least, I have the message when I turn the device on).
Wanted now to use installer within a windows computer and now I have that message at the begining, after choosing the "SW binaries... loire" file:
"Error core manual_download: Error: checksum mismatch"

According to my knowledges, with that phone, that is the pain... but will try again.

    • Installer stops with adb error

      Dear all,
Hope that is the place to explain my problem.
I have a Sony XperiaX, unlocked.
Start to install UbuntuTouch with help of the installer.
First remark: no light blue nevertheless the procedure continues till it ot stuck with that message:
"The installation stopped due to a problem...
      ...
      Error: adb:push: Error: {"error":{"code":1}}

      Any idea?
      Thanks in advance

      Dear all,
I have several questions. Sorry if it looks a bit random :

-I have seen that NFC is working with Android 9 base devices. Do you plan to open NFC with older Android base devices (e.g. 4.2) ? Is it in the pipeline ?

-Will Ubuntu 20.04 update (smoothly) run with old UT devices or do users need to think about a newer cell phone ?

-Android debug menu (like *#2663# command,…) does not exist on UT. Is it relevant for « normal user » to implement something similar with infos about battery/CPU/sensors... statuts ?

      Thanks, and nice job!

      Thanks.
Well, I looked for firefox as a "easy" starting point.
A list appeared and the 1st one looks good.
How do I install it? I clicked on it: nothing. I swipe and click on the checked square: nothing...
      I pressed longer: nothing happened.
Is that such not intuitive or I am blind? :s

@advocatux Thanks but if I do that I have choice betwenn "enter package name" (how to know the name?), choose Debian package (next window is empty), and "search archives"...
I use ubuntu touch, hence there is no enter button to press.
