There's really no point doing that. May I suggest that you consider downloading Ubuntu Desktop https://www.ubuntu.com/#download and trying it out live from a USB device or DVD without changing your PC's Operating System. https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/try-ubuntu-before-you-install#0 . I've been delighted in using Ubuntu as the Operating System on all my PCs since 2008. Very soon I hope to install Ubuntu Touch on my devices currently running the Android Operating System.

RE: how can I test ubuntu touch on my windows PC??
@lakotaubp Good sins to have those GNU/Linux distros . In 2008 I discovered FOSS when tasked to write a custom holiday rental/hire system for a members association. I attempted to use WAMP but discovered LAMP and used that approach. It was an eureka moment that took me down the GNU/LINUX route to find an operating system to use on my PCs instead of Windows XP. I tried and tested several distros running on XP virtually under Virtual Box including Fedora, Mint, openSUSE, CentOS, various derivatives based on Ubuntu and settled on installing Ubuntu Gnome and have stuck with Ubuntu despite the sometimes controversial change to Unity and now to Gnome3. I recently tried out Deepin Linux on my backup laptop and found it fast to boot and run apps although it is perhaps rather pretty. Being conservative I've decided to stick with tried and tested reliable Ubuntu on my day to day work laptop.

RE: Misunderstanding about ubuntu touch on Nexus 7
@lakotaubp Thank you. You have pointed out my silly mistake. My Nexus 7 is indeed the 2012 model and I should have observed the physical differences when watching the video. So if I want to brick my N7 I'll go ahead and try to install ununtu touch. Errm, not a good idea. Pity, as I'm hugely appreciative of Ubuntu since starting to use it as my day to day OS on my PCs.

RE: Misunderstanding about ubuntu touch on Nexus 7
@3arn0wl Thanks. My Nexus 7 is the Nexus 7 2013 WiFi I see that https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/flo states Nexus 7 2013 WiFi (flo) and I do not yet understand what (flo) means. (More research needed taffymike).

Misunderstanding about ubuntu touch on Nexus 7
I read at https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/flo the one can have ubuntu touch on a nexus 7 but Lacotaubp wrote "*Each device needs porting individually you need to start here if you want to port yourself https://halium.org. As stated above your devices are not currently supported. Please also read this https://forums.ubports.com/topic/206/will-you-port-to-device-*x".
Is there a conflict between the info at https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/flo and at https://forums.ubports.com/topic/206/will-you-port-to-device-x ? -
RE: how can I test ubuntu touch on my windows PC??
@lakotaubp I'm only trying to positive here. I don't disagree with you but would it not be more sensible to have Ubuntu on his/her PC? Or is mazzhablog just hoping to have a play with ubuntu touch? Android can be installed on a PC so I wonder if that could be a start to having ubuntu touch on a PC?

Sorry I should have looked further for Nexus 7 tablet https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/flo . But I will need assurance that I can revert it back to Android 6.0.

Are my Nexus 7 tablet and Motorola Moto G 4G phone supported please?
I have a Nexus 7 tablet Released 2012, July and a Motorola Moto G 4G phone (2nd Generation running Android 6.0).
I've been delighted in using Ubuntu on my PCs since 2008 and was disappointed when the Unity Everywhere project was discontinued.
I'd like to install Ubuntu touch on both devices starting with the Motorola phone and would welcome advice on how to start doing that. If I do, will I be able to use the Motorola not only as a Touch device but as a cellnet phone. Also will I be able to revert the phone back to running Android as it does now? Thank you.
