Hello all
@Moem said in Data still not working after months of works, I go to e/os:
But I don't see you asking questions here on the forum.
Exact, but I have been on all posts related to "data not working" and other keywords on ubuntu/fairphone/ubports forums. There are nice people everywhere. I always try to manage by myself before asking the community. I have tried dozens and dozens "receipes" to fix the issue, without success. I would really like to stay with ubports, wich is the most friendly OS for me, but I need data working. I have not tried yet to install another Sim in my FP4 to see if it is a provider issue.

humm i think i've already heard something similar somewhere and it was because on previous Android IMS was enabled. I don't lnow well how to tackle this, but either by toggled it off when on Android or via the provider's web site.
I am ready to reinstall ubports for the third time if a solution is found. Do you suggest that I come back to android 11 and try to disable it ? I hope I can go back to android 11, because the installer of E/os asked to be on A13 for a story of certificates, and I had to do it, I am now on A13 since yesterday night, data is working, but i did not succeeded to install e/os with their installer and their brand new last version, because of some security certificates not up to date, from their side I think. ( their servers were also down during the last days, wich is not serious)
I would like to know if there is a french user here with the french provider Free and an FP4 on 20.04 with data working. I also suspect this is an issue with the provider, because data works for the first 30-40 seconds, with very high speed, and the symptom looks like if I get kicked out after this period, when the logo goes from"L" to "3G". I would like also to precise that Data was working until nov-dec 2023, and It suddenly ceased to work. The Free provider always change some things.
I have called the Free support team, to ask if somethin has changed in 2023, but, as expected, they were unable to answer to my questions nore find a solution.
I have questions to the community: -shall I install a previous version of ubports (16. ?) to see if the issue is there ?
-is there a log of the network connections in 20.04 to see if there is a message from the provider, or any interesting info about the connection ?
-is it possible to modify the UBports Network settings on the configuration file itself, and not on the GUI ? if yes, what is the path of the "network settings" document ?
I do not deseperate that the situation changes if it's a provider issue. I wait for your eventual answers before trying (to install...) another OS.
Cheers, JN
