    • Issue with Ubuntu Touch installation on Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro global (fastbootd not working)

      Hello friends,

An unlocked bootloader is, of course, already in place.

I ran into trouble during the Ubuntu Touch installation at the stage where, after downloading the installation files, the installer flashes the phone via fastboot and then tries to reboot it into fastbootd. It looks like my phone does not support the fastbootd mode.

After this reboot attempt, the phone gets stuck on a screen showing an unlocked padlock at the top, the Android logo in the middle, and "powered by Android" at the bottom. From here it doesn’t proceed any further, and the UBports installer just keeps waiting for a fastbootd connection.

The only thing I can do is restart the phone into the regular fastboot mode, but the installer doesn’t accept that and won’t continue.

I also tried experimenting with TWRP, but couldn’t figure out a working solution. In the end, I had to re-flash the stock Android ROM to get the phone back to working order.

According to the Ubuntu Touch device list, this phone should be fully supported — that’s why I bought it in the first place.

Has anyone run into this issue? Do you have any suggestions on how to solve it?

Thanks a lot in advance for any helpful advice!
