You just get the music icon.
Is there a way to pull a random album picture at all?

Moved this post to Support
@fishfingers44 can you give us more info? Like what device? Vivid or xenial? What UT version? etc
Also, have you checked if it's a known bug?

The thumbnailer for this App was hosted by Canonical, its not running locally on the device. So as we do not have their service anymore, unfortunately there is no way currently to generate nice thumbnails. Suggestions welcome

@flohack can we replicate that service in our servers or it would be very hard/expensive/any_other_reason?
Maybe we could use the http://coverartarchive.org/ API? Are we using or can we use easily the MBID (https://musicbrainz.org/doc/MusicBrainz_Identifier)?

We ar eopen to any solution that does not cost money
- So yes, we can take a look at this, but its more of a problem that someone needs to work on this. I will ping Andrew Hayzen and ask what he thinks. -

@flohack Kodi have many sources: https://kodi.wiki/view/Music_artwork
example: http://www.theaudiodb.com/index.php -
I think its not a problem of sources but of having no one that is maintaining this app, unfortunately.
