๐Ÿ™‚ The Tor browser is a feature I'd very much like to see too, @fishfingers44 - I've mentioned it numerous times here.

I know that the developers are busy building a new browser app at the moment, in preparation for the release of OTA-4. My hope is that Tor might be a possible feature.

I'm trying to get this working on Libertine in Xenial, but I think the confinement of the container might be impeding matters. Will post more info in due course.

I have used TOR Browser on my Ubuntu laptop and think that it is OK. However, I stopped using it when I moved to my vpn as it was too slow and I could not access everything I needed to. I personally think that apps for vpnโ€™s would be more useful at the moment. Or even an easier way to add and set up your vpn. We can set up the vpn in settings, but it takes a lot to get it up and running. Most users will not want to do this as they are used to the โ€œclick & playโ€ world we now live in. The use of vpnโ€™s is growing and more and more people want to use them.

Do you suppose having some kind of wizard would make the setting up of an OpenVPN client easier? Or are you thinking of something else?

@arubislander Something like a wizard would be useful I think and help the average user set it up. Apart from that or dedicated apps, I am not aware of anything else that could be used. Are there any suggestions you are aware off?

No, not really. I was just wanting to get an idea along what lines you were thinking. An alternative VPN editor has been recently published in the OpenStore. As far as I can see the main difference with the one in the settings manager is that it allows configuration of a PPtP VPN server.
But maybe your suggestion of a wizard could be picked up by someone and implemented.

I have not seen the VPN editor that you mentioned in the OpenStore, but I will look.
I really wish that the Wizard suggestion would get taken up. That would help all user and not just the users browsing the web. However, in saying that it would also be nice to have the TOR Browser.

@ukphil Well, not about Tor Browser as in the title, but VPN problems as mentioned here. The UBPorts/Ubuntu Touch NetworkManager password bug could cost you many, many hours and nerves.

So have a look at https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/46 (mentioned in another post, if you're searching for 'VPN' here, as well).

Read the first 4 lines of the first post โ€“ from member NeoTheThird โ€“ and the last 9. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do the job as described there, perhaps you need to study https://ubports.com/de_DE/blog/ubports-blog-1/post/terminal-chapter-1-113 as well:

"To login as superuser, type: $ sudo - i and your password

To COPY or PASTE: hold your finger on the screen until the contextual menu appears

To SCROLL the window UP or DOWN: use two fingers and swipe

To select a layout, press and hold the square icon on the bottom left side. You'll see the options. Slide the finger to the desired one. [Nano]

Gnu Nano: shortcuts keys for, in this order, help, save, read, previous page, cut text, position, exit, indentation, search, next page, paste text, spellcheck:
                            CTRL+G, CTRL+O, CTRL+R, CTRL+Y, CTRL+K, CTRL+C, CTRL+X, CTRL+J, CTRL+W, CTRL+V, CTRL+U, CTRL+T"
