@advocatux Once again in your debt : )

@advocatux @Lakotaubp @TheBird Thanks for all help. It worked out after I was able to download the right file. I have installed the ubuntu touch 15.04. Then I was able to activate the ubports installer and reinstalled 15.04 and then I installed 16.04. Everything is working, the only I need now is anbox. Is it possible to install that on 16.04 stable or?

@toddvarg until Marius starts to push the latest changes he's doing, these are the only supported devices for now http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/anbox.html

@advocatux Thanks for the info and we will just wait, it will happen when it happens, no rush. I have a working Ubuntu phone with 16.04, so it's enough to play with for now :-).

Hi, not to hijack this thread, but I am also trying to install newest UBports to E4.5. I am not expert in any level, so I read the forums and info pages. I have OTA-15 in my phone right now.
I have to use mac because my Ubuntu is only 32-bit. Old old old.
I have Developer Mode on and your newest installer installed to mac. Installer detect my E4.5 and I can choose 15.04 and 16.04 images. Installation starts, I put mac password in program and phone turns to FASTBOOT mode. After that nothing. It just hangs. I have waited an hour and nothing. With both 15.04 and 16.04 images.
After I restart the phone my OTA-15 is still there.
So, what should I do? Do I have to use the other way, like toddvarg did, or can I use installer in some way? As mentioned, I am totally newbie with phones, so step-by-step instruction is highly appreciated. Otherwise I will just continue to use OTA-15. No courage to play too much with it.
Thanks,

@jonik if you still have any trouble installing UT, please open a new thread in Support.
Said that, check that all the necessary tools are in your
$PATH
or try to run the installer with root powers (withsudo
or whatever Mac uses).Edit: See this for example https://forums.ubports.com/topic/1092/howto-make-mac-see-your-phone-in-bootloader

@advocatux Thank you for your hints! Unfortunately, I could not get installer to start even in sudo mode. So, I decided to go to my parents place where is Ubuntu machine. 7 min waiting and now I have newest UBports in my phone. Updating now.
Thanks a lot for all the trouble! Problem solved.
