        There is an EU law initiative underway against the RF device tinkering by OpenSource (and other) projects, which might effect us with out UBports devices. More details here:

          As far as I can read, it concern the WiFi, the solution for us may be to not allow some band (g/b/...) depending on the location country where the device is on.But nothing is decided for now. Good to know, thanks.

              I think there's a bit of overreaction to this, as if I understand correctly, the proposal is about radio firmware only (which we do not modify in UT at all anyway).

              However, if there was open source firmware we could use for the radios in our devices, that would be much better indeed. So the law is excessive and unnecessary. Definitely a case of the corrupt creating a law to keep the power in their own hands.
