Not a question, but a statement because I know the Devs read this post!!
Continued appreciation for UT, and huge thanks for all the time and effort you put into making UT what it is.

@3arn0wl Of course many thanks. And there must be many headwords behind it...

@UBportsNews Will it be included xenial_-_new-bluez in an OTA?

I have three organization/foundation questions:
- What is the way to get official answers from the foundation? For example if someone created some artwork (let it be telegram yumi stickers) and wants to ask the foundation to publish it?
- I understand there will always be decisions which can't be met publicly etc. but there are also a lot of decisions which can and maybe should be made plublic including the decision process, similar like Debian does it: https://www.debian.org/vote/. When they were voting for systemd over upstart they also published the irc log of the vote. What do think about that?
- What about the foundation application form on the website? Does it actually work now?

Lukasz Erecinski from Pine64 wrote June 6, 2019 in a News Blog about PinePhone:
I am still waiting to try a number of the OS’, including Ubuntu Touch and Sailfish OS; once I get my hands on these builds I’ll make sure to record a compilation demo, showcasing functionality and performance.

So my question is:
Is there a build of ubports he can get his hands on?

So... Unity8 works on the Pinephone board, but not with all the features of a UBports phone build...
Can I ask a follow-up question then, please...? Are the UBports devs doing all the work on getting Unity8/Mir onto Wayland, or are Canonical devs contributing too? Canonical, after all, still have interest here, I think.

This post is probably not the best place to discuss this, but I'll answer briefly.
Canonical funds most of the work on Mir, and that work includes making Mir work with Wayland.
In principle, Unity8 (or other server using Mir) doesn't care whether clients are using the mirclient API or Wayland. Except where it uses the mirclient API itself, or features that would need Wayland extensions to support. The Mir devs have provided advice about the Unity8 changes, but are not otherwise active in making them.

Lukasz is in our community and I'm pretty sure is well aware of the status. My understanding is that there are still some issues with graphics with mir/unity8, but it's being worked on. The rootfs for the PinePhone is also built from edge channel, so it's using new unity8/mir already. I think it's also using the arm64 rootfs, so there may be some additional hindrances from that, as Canonical never released a fully working 16.04 arm64 image on anything.
