        Hello.

Can this question be answered now, or will it be asked at the next Q and A.

Will the Ubuntu touch evolutions soon make it possible to correct NEXUS 5 video playback problems?

At the moment, the only way to play videos on the Nexus 5 is to use UT media as long as this app works.

        Thank you.

@domubpkm I can't answer your question (sorry!) but to get the gist of that old issue, please see this https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/7#issuecomment-352201205

@domubpkm To clarify the meaning of my question (I had posted it in q and a and then i finally fired it): the purpose of posting it here is not to add this as a complement to a bug report in github or even to insist on the immediate resolution of this problem. The purpose of the question, which I think may be of interest to all Nexus 5 owners, is to know IF, the contribution of MIR, wayland, new unity 8 or whatever else could lead to solving the problem directly or even finding a workaround solution. That's it!
              Thank you.

Mir/Wayland and newer Unity 8 are completely unrelated to the video decoding issues experienced on Nexus 5 with the hardware decoder.
