Let's be clear: there is currently no interest in using libreoffice and Firefox under Libertine. It is absolutely not functional and usable on a daily basis. The only interest is on an experimental basis and to see that the Libertine device works as well as possible.

In fact, I am looking for an app to open and modify a .xls file. I did not find anything to do that... This is the reason why I tried LibreOffice. And it is obviously not usable.

@lool_lauris You can connect a bluetooth keyboard (+ mouse).
But yes Libertine is intended for compatibility for desktop usage.

UT's goal is convergence, so one day we might use a convergent app to edit spreadsheet and docs with and app made for phone, tablet and desktop, adapting to the screen size and changing how the user interact with the app.

But this is a long road.
And designing an app to edit spreadsheet on mobile is very hard to achieve given the little screen space available.

OK but I have to modify the .xls file when I am preparing a glider on the airfield runway. So I have only the phone and not keyboard... ☺

Going a bit off topic herexlsut can you use a simpler technical solution? like editing a text file with the ... five ? or so numbers you actually have to modify? does it have to be xls?

In fact, it is a spreadsheet with equations. It is therefore an .xls file but can just as easily be an.ods file. However, I need the formulas....

I think you should probably take this Excel file to a PC and open it there, and maybe create a spreadsheet on Google Sheets with the same structure, then use the Google Sheets web app on the phone, assuming you'll have good data connection at that point. It will be more reliable I think.

Seriously, it is a good idea. I will try to find a thing in that way. Thank you.

@lool_lauris You can try framacalc, it's a bit restrictive, but can be compatible with simple formulas.
