      Ubuntu Touch Photographs

We are going to create a new forum subcategory and would like sample photos for that. The aim is to show the technical abilities of the Ubuntu Touch camera app across all devices.

The photos should be taken preferably on a sunny day with little or no contrast no special effects or post editing. We want them just as they come straight out of the camera. This is not a competition. Please remove any GPS data but other EXIF info maybe useful.

Please post them on UT photography on Telegram and Matrix using the uncompressed method. We will do the rest.

Around five or six representative images from each supported device is probably about right to begin with. It will satisfy curiosity and for those users who particularly like to use their phone as a camera, it will serve as a basic review of performance. Xperia X camera is not working yet but when it is, it will be interesting to see how it performs with Ubuntu Touch.

OnePlus3 is the most interesting of all from a photography point of view, for a variety of reasons. That deserves a blog post all its own. Very few users have one yet but photo samples are especially welcome!

Great if the camera works on the OP3, but currently it is not working on the OP3T as far as I know, definitely not on mine anyhow...

@ziggutas The camera on the OnePlusThree is working to some extent. The 3T is only able to do screenshots of the live camera at present

@lionelb The camera of the Xx actually works but it doesn't take good photos, because of the DRM keys issue. My OPO with LOS actually takes better photos than my Xx with UT or SFOS.

That's right, and for my purposes that would be enough to promote the 3T to daily driver if it had a ringtone for incoming calls as well.

As you may know (from Telegram photography group chat a while back) I'm running a new Xperia X under UT as well; the idea being that one of these devices will one day replace my BQ E4.5. I prefer the X because it is new and it is also just the right size for me, although these are both great devices!

Camera not working on the X at the moment; the app crashes immediately on opening. I tried installing from terminal following instructions in the device thread which made a lot of progress: the app now opens but displays a block of multi-coloured squares instead of an image, so it's unusable for the time being.

Edit: Actually, photo camera now working on Sony X after installing the devel version of UT onto the device.
