Does Meizu PRO 5 work well with Ubuntu Touch?
-
This phone appears to have the best specs. It's cheap too! What are your experiences with Meizu? Is it any good?

@linuxadopter Hi,
From what I hear here and there it's a very good phone for UT.
But it can be hard to find one. I was looking for one when I bought my N5 but couldn't find it... -
Well I found two of'em! And they are really cheap!

@linuxadopter
I had a 32g , they are a nice device -
Have a look round the forum for advice on how to setup the Chinese version if thats what you can get. If you find the International version all the better.
-
@Lakotaubp I haven't bought it yet. When I have it I will ask what to do.

The phone is a great phone at times the blue tooth will not pair up with certain car audios but the phone is great. Also find the international version it works well with att you will get 4glte. The Chinese version only gives you 2g here in the US

@linuxadopter International version is better. I mean hardware version, that has Meizu Pro 5 LTE written on back of the phone. If it has Meizu Pro 5 TD-LTE written, then it is Chinese version and no so good frequencies for mobile signal in Europe, US.
Make sure it is Meizu Pro 5, as some sellers trying to sell Meizu MX5 Pro ( such phone never existed) wich is just MX5 and by any chance it won't run UT.On Pro 5, bluetooth calling doesn't work, there is a workaround to have a fingerprint reader working and also radio/mobile firmware needs to be updated to newest available to have LTE 4G working nicely ( better signal, better battery life)
All info is available here on Ubports forum.One thing more:
Make sure the phone the seller sells you has previous user/owner logged out of Flyme account on the phone. You will need it to get root access, by creating/logging in to Flyme account on the phone with your own credentials.Apart from all this things, a great UT phone.
