Trouble Installing on Oneplus One (Solved)
-
@Edward-Wilhelm Is that on your Mint or your brothers pop one. Not sure why that happened.
-
@Lakotaubp
Pop os with the snap version of the installer -
@Edward-Wilhelm and you installed both ADB and fastboot on the pop one? Can you double check that. T
-
@Lakotaubp
I did this:sudo apt update
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastbootThen you type
adb devices
-
@Lakotaubp
running adb devices gives:
List of devices attached- daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037
- daemon started successfully
-
@Edward-Wilhelm So if you rerun the installer what happens. Does it still stop at the same point. Can you see in the terminal what stops working.
-
@Lakotaubp
It doesn't recognize the phone automatically, so I manually choose one plus one.
Then it tells me to go into boot loader mode by holding power button and up button
I do that, and the phone cuts off so that I can no longer see the UB ports screen.
The phone then turns back on to UB ports screen.
The installer says waiting for device, and then eventually it says the connection has been lost. -
@Edward-Wilhelm Will the phone boot to anything when not connected to the pc. Can you get it to recovery clear the cache and reboot.
-
@Lakotaubp
The only thing I can do is turn the phone on and off by holding down the power button. When the phone is on it has the powered by ubuntu screen. It doesn't seem to make a difference whether the phone is plugged in or not, however the phone does turn itself on when I connect the cable. -
@Lakotaubp Okay hold on.
I held the down button and power button and got to UB ports recovery. -
@Edward-Wilhelm Good so you have that. In android actions clear cache then factory reset and try again maybe with a different usb cable.
-
@Lakotaubp
Okay I did that, and reb-booted. Now I am back to the powered by ubuntu screen. I am no longer able to get back to recovery mode. -
@Edward-Wilhelm That's after rerunning the installer.
-
@Lakotaubp
I am not sure what you mean. -
@Lakotaubp
I did the down keystroke/power button combo several more times, and I was able to get it back to recovery mode. -
@Edward-Wilhelm try leaving the phone in recovery then connect to the pc and just restart the installer and see how far you get. You've not had any battery issues at all have you?
-
@Lakotaubp
I got the installer to recognizes the device again. It then told me to hold down button + power which I did. Then the connection was lost. -
@Edward-Wilhelm Is the phone switching off
-
@Lakotaubp Yes. I am back in recovery mode now.
-
@Lakotaubp Okay I re ran adb devices in recovery and it could see the phone. I re-did the installer. Now magic is happening! It says success! Now the phone says it is installing update. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!
