Torch not working on Fairphone 2 with UT 16.04 Stable.

Known issue: https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/448
-
@kwah Thanks.
-
I'd wish this issue was resolved soon.
-
@Opolork Me too ! Plus the side button for camera ain't working either - this is also a known issue, as someone noticed on git hub, and also without a solution so far... As both of these work fine on android 7, I guess it's a matter of drivers ? Maybe there's a way of extracting these from the provided android rom and add them to the kernel ? Or straight from fairphone support ?

Hi Emphrath. I wonder do the Fairphone guys help out the UBports guys with things like drivers, etc?
-
@Opolork No idea.
-
Alas, the torch still doesn't work.

Hi. To answer your questions, a new port for the Fairphone 2 is currently worked on. It is based on Android 7.1 (the current port is based on 5.1) and will allow to have the flashlight working. Unfortunately, the Fairphone developers aren't helping the UBPorts community, and there is no release date planed at the moment.

Thank you for the update, Fla. I appreciate it.

@Fla yep i've been following @peat_psuwit work closely and such dedication is amazing. But I can wait for sth integrated in stable. same reason i don't install anbox yet. huge thanks nonetheless

I tried again today if the torch is working yet on my FP2. No change. I launched uTorch and it gave a message about there being no permissions to access the hardware.

Still not working.
