I never tried MMS either but I think you need to configure your APN, go to your operator web and find the way to do that.
PS MMS needs connect to internet, I think without data connection you are not able to send/receive MMS
-
@uzanto I did it, with different configurations.
This is the operator's configuration:Données cellulaires Internet (DATA) - Nom du point d’accès (APN) : free - MCC : 208 - MNC : 15 - MMSC (si disponible) : http://mms.free.fr MMS - Nom du point d’accès (APN) : mmsfree - MMSC : http://mms.free.fr - MCC : 208 - MNC : 15 - Type d’APN : mms Activer l‘itinérance des données (si option disponible)
What is MCC and MNC exactly? I cannot enter them. Unstead, I can enter proxi, proxi port, user name and user password (I let them empty).
@Flohack I will report the bug, thanks for the link. I reported it at canonical at least one year ago ;).
Thanks for your help!
-
@uzanto Hmm thats true, for MMS you need data to download. But we are at least missing an error message telling the user that he received an MMS but cannot download it. I would suggest this.

@Flohack It will be nice to receive a notification, yes. But, it worked before without data. And my wife, who has now my old firefox phone, can receive mms without data too (she has the same operator). I don't know what was changed...
-
@Teigneux With WiFi works? maybe when you read the MMS you were connected to WiFi
-
@uzanto No, it worked also without wifi
-
I receive an sms with a password and a link to the mms at the telephone company's server when someone sends me an mms. I then follow the link and log in with the received password to see the mms.
-
@hans1977se In my case, I receive anything and never know if someone sent to me a mms. I know when someone ask me if I well received the mms...
-
@Teigneux Maybe it could be that both your and my phone denies mms, but your provider just scrap it whereas my provider stores it and send that notification? Could be worth calling them to get some help figuring out.
