I see what you mean, and i think it will probably always be like that. Some people prefer spending time on the things they don't like rather than like. I'll surely have a nice day. Have a nice day, you too (and all the rest of you).

RE: What is your main points for a perfect personal phone operative system?
I agree with you too, @mariogrip . I went all-in in February with Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 4. It feels very good to have the increased freedom, but it comes at some cost. The things I'm having trouble with so far:
- Lack of access to important apps.
- Browser crash and wouldn't start again until rebooting the phone.
- Alarm clock sometimes does not go off, or goes off late (10-20 minutes).
- Buggy and poor navigation and usability in text fields (e.g. typing sms).
- Sudden restarts.
- Lack of input languages (in my case Thai language).
- Volume control crash and requires reboot to come back.
- Phone low responsive to input.
- Significantly shorter battery time.
I think my hope for continued development, proper convergence and the freedom helps me stay with Ubuntu on my phone, but in the long-term I don't know.
Special thanks to everyone not giving up despite the lack of Canonical support!

RE: Daily usable ?
I think other phones are superior in most ways, but there is no other phone that i feel as good to use as an Ubuntu Phone. I think it works well enough and is also constantly improving.
I'm very happy for all positive contributions to make it better, including constructive criticism.
Thanks for all the nice contributions so far, and keep up the good work!

RE: Clavier M10
This is not a big thing for me, but i kind of think it would be the most beneficial for everyone if the focus can be on making the greatest phone ever and preferably not include the f-word or similar. I think @Locamama for sure have good intentions and @alternator has mostly (of what i have read) contributed good input, and i think continued coexistence would be preferable. Would it be possible to put this to the past for everyone?

RE: OTA 3 suggestions: your wanted features
@mariogrip I think being able to run android apps is what i'd look forward the most to see. It does not mean i want to be glued to android apps all the time, but rather to get through something in the way.
Better battery time would also be helpful.
Also thanks for all you have done so far!

RE: Future core phones
I agree with @Lakota , that it should be available for everyone. I therefore think the team's decision to put priority on Halium is very good. I think it will make it significantly easier to support new phones and therefore attracts more people to contribute. Hopefully deciding about a particular flagship device will then also not be much of an issue as a result. I also think prioritizing Anbox is probably a good idea to attract people to contribute. Finally i think convergence seems like a fantastic feature.
Who knows, but Imho those 3 should be the top 3 priorities to provide for a bright future of ubports,

RE: The big scope question
It's not unlikely that i have misunderstood scopes, but isn't the whole point to display as little information as possible but enough for the user to know it will be worth while to open specific application(s)? Just that + some simple things like time, date etc.

RE: adb shell not working Meizu Pro 5
@Stefano I too know it works on the Nexus 5, so i thought making sure that the PC side is ok would be a good start. Anyway, the device seems more likely to be the reason. I'm short on suggestions, but i think i have read that authentication is optional so it could be worth trying to find it and turn it off.

RE: Compatibility or not as a development priority?
@ZeroPointEnergy I think so too. Anbox can be very nice, and i'll use it for sure to get around the lack of some specific application, but the core applications should be pure native i think.

RE: UBports Community Q&A: Saturday, May 27, 2017
I have watched through the Q&A now, and I'm very happy for the increased attention to the ubports project. I'm also very happy to know about the efforts made to support backup of the device. Thanks for your efforts!
In the Q&A I got to know that ubports now runs on Nexus 4, but the devices page still says that there is no image. Should that information just be ignored and either of the two suggested procedures should be followed?
Regarding what to do with the new opportunities that comes with the new full-time developer, I think the first priority should be to add support for an inexpensive smallish device (similar to Nexus 4, Nexus 5 or L90) that is easy to get in as many countries as possible. That's because i think all of the currently supported devices are actually quite hard to get.
I would like to say that in my opinion the second priority should be to make more native apps and make it easier to make native apps, but I'd rather put Anbox as the second priority anyway since I think it is probably a more pragmatic way to get access to more apps fast.

RE: [HowTo] Update baseband firmware
@lakota Sounds nice. I'll try to remenber to have a look.

RE: Can I make internet calls (VoIP, SIP)?
@nosucherror Me too, think it would be great with a softphone integrated. The way i would like it is integrated with the phone app as described in this post: https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg16455.html . A very nice thing from the information in his post is that it seems to be a small job to implement it.

RE: [HowTo] Update baseband firmware
@lakota Thanks. It's good that you have had time to follow what's going on here. I've been too busy to follow this great project these last few months, but i do have been using my Ubuntu phone without worries except for this one in the meantime of course.

RE: [HowTo] Update baseband firmware
@lakota Awesome. It seems to be working again when switching to the release candidate channel. Thanks for your suggestion!
I'm surprised that no one else seem to have noticed this problem with the stable release. Or, i haven't looked throughly enough to find those who has problems.

RE: [HowTo] Update baseband firmware
@flohack Thanks for a very nice and simple instruction.
I have a problem with the mobile connection after installing r3, and i hoped that doing this could solve the problem. Unfortunately it didn't. The problem is that mobile data connection does not work anymore after upgrading to r3. The "4G" icon comes up when enabling mobile data, but the internet connection does not work and there is only the loopback interface in ifconfig.
Do you (or anyone else here, of course) have any solution for this or any suggestions on how to debug it?

It looks like the phone sends sms without my approval
I had an incoming call that i could not answer, and now i see that there is an outgoing sms at the same time as the time of the call to the same number. The message is "I'm running late, on my way now.", and written automatically by the phone.
Is this the horrible bug it looks like, or a feature that can be switched off? If so, how do i switch it off? Can it somehow have been done by the phone company?
EDIT: I have figured out now. Someone have came up with the "brilliant" idea to put a drop-down box with pre-written messages that can randomly be selected when the phone rings in your pocket.
Is there a way to remove this drop-down?

RE: [Discussion] File Manager improvements
@sverzegnassi , one problem i have after trying this development version of the file manager is that both *.mp4 and *.MOV files are played back heavily in pink color after installing it, and the problem does not go away when i uninstalling it either. I posted about it here as well, https://forums.ubports.com/topic/600/cannot-play-the-old-mov-made-by-the-canonical-image/4 , but did not get any suggestions on how to fix it. Do you have any ideas what went wrong and how to fix it?

RE: [Discussion] File Manager improvements
@sverzegnassi said in [Discussion] File Manager improvements:
Ok, so is the problem only related to the icon shown in the header? If so, we can remove it, and keep just the text.
I actually think it's not so easy to do it in a user friendly way. How about replacing the whole thing with "Select All" and "Select None" in the hamburger menu together with "Properties"?

RE: Version check
@Rico You go System Settings -> About -> OS, on the phone, and it should say "Ubuntu 15.04 (r2)" for latest UBports.

RE: Desktop apps
@Lakota said in Desktop apps:
error: device unauthorized
I've had this problem once. I think it can have multiple causes, but in my case it disappeared when i switched my pc to Ubuntu 16.04.
