@pinetaco Did you try the Nexus 5 flashing toolbox? It might help. It's in the Nexus 5 vs Nexus 5X thread. It requires Windows to use.

Sorry to say but a locked bootloader cnanot be the reason for adb or fastboot not working. A locked bootloader just means you cannot flash anything on the device, so neither UBports installer nor Android stock firmware canยดt be flashed.
Go here: https://developers.google.com/android/images#hammerhead and follow the instructions. Rebboting into fastboot mode will work for sure with pressing Vol-Down and Power until you see the menu. Its hard to destroy the bootloader on an Android device, and as soon as you have access to it, you can repair your phone.

@pinetaco Please edit the swear word, or I can do it for you if there is an issue. Thanks

@pinetaco no such a thing can happen as you can't flash anything on Nexus 5 if the bootloader is locked and Ubports installer can't unlock it for you. You should know that.

Sorted it now. Thanks

I had problems unlocking the bootloader of my Nexus 5! The device was recognized and the folders were visible but was not detected when switched off. So I used "platform-tools" under Linux Mint (because under Windows 10 I have had problems) and, after having opened the folder of platform-tools as administrator, I typed the command lines, but with the smartphone turned on. It was successful unlocked. (Sorry for my English language which is not good)
