      Hi,
      I have a new Volla Phone with Ubuntu 16.04 (OTA-14) and a laptop with Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS.
      Now I want to connect my phone to my laptop, but it says that the file / folder

      udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-2/

      not exists.

      I found out, that KDE Connect is not available for Ubuntu Touch.
      Do you know, how to solve this problem?

      Thank you,
      Steffi

        Hi @steffi and welcome.

        MTP is enabled by default IIRC, so you just have to plug your phone to your computer, unlock your screen and you should be ready to go.

        If you try another kind of connection, please explain precisely what you're trying to achieve.

          Thank you for your answer.
          I do what you say... I plug my phone in my computer and unlock my phones screen. Than on my computer, I try to open it like a USB stick (klick on the small stick icon and then "open with file browser"). Then the error occurred...

            @steffi
            If your computer recognize the phone, then gives you the error message, it is possible that your USB cable is not reliable.
            Have you tried with a different cable ?

              @steffi Have you tried with another USB cable? Try plugging it in/out and test again. While plugged in, go to the phone's upper Notification bar and click on the Files symbol.
              On my Ubuntu 20.04 my Nexus 5 does the same thing. Usually, it goes at the second try.

                I hate MTP because it's been unreliable even on Android. Setup SSH and you'll have no problem except for the slower transfer rates 😄

                  @steffi said in Connect Ubuntu Touch Smartphone to Ubuntu Computer:

                  I found out, that KDE Connect is not available for Ubuntu Touch.

                  It is available for Plasma Mobile with a QML interface, so once the qt upgrade to 5.12 is done, it might be feasible to port it. Would be really cool IMHO as quite a few devices (for example OnePlus3 have broken ADB/MTP).

                  Fairphone 5 (waiting for port)

                    Thank you for all your answers. I found the following solution:
                    I installed nautilus. With nautilus the access to my phone is working. Is was a problem with KIO.

                      @steffi
                      Glad it worked out.

                      Can you try the "Topic Tools" menu to "Ask a question".
                      And then use it again to "Mark as solved".

                      It might help others find the solution to a similar problem.
                      If you are not yet allowed to do so, let me know and I'll do it for you.
