        Hello,

I installed Ubuntu Touch the other day on my Nexus 6P (Angler), and While I am impressed about how smooth it is, I have some issues that maybe others have had?

First, the WIFI is living it's own life. When the screen sleeps, and are not used for some minutes, WIFI is disconnected, and I have to toggle the WIFI switch in menu to reconnect.

Also my GPS is not working, I cant see the location on the map, and I also installed an app called "Sensor status", but inn the GPS part, it shows no data.
I'm indoors, but I have earlier had GPS signal inside when it was running Android.

Anyone had the same issues, and maybe a solution?

          Hello,

concerning gps i don't think it works indoors (i might be wrong).
          you can run

          sudo test_gps

and see if it will print longitude and latitude lines (it will take some time + make sure that you keep the phone unlocked)

@olebentel There is a thread already open on the WiFi part here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5399/gps-not-working/15

@lakotaubp I'm also having problems with the GPS - most of the time its not working, with the same behaviour you're describing. However, I didn't use the phone much with Android, so it could be a hardware issue.

Seems strange though, since it works sometimes. Right now it managed to connect for the second time in history. When it connects its indoors in the same location as where it usually fails, and the reception/preciseness is great. It usually won't connect even outdoors.

Edit: I probably have the exact same issue as described here:

                @lakotaubp Thanks.

The link was for GPS, not WIFI.

I did some digging, and turns out that without active mobile network card in the phone, AGPS will use a long time to get a fix.
This is because AGPS use cell tower fix to determine rough location, and then get help from internet to calculate a more accurate position. (Simple explanation, read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GPS)

I put my phone card in the Nexus 6P, and even inside it took under 1 min for the unit to have a fix and position.

So now I only have WIFI to sort out. 🙂
