I have been using OPO One with UT for one year now. I have recently started experiencing to problems.
The first problem is that the contact search does not work. Whether I search for contacts through the phone app or through the contacts app, neither works. For me historically, this has always been buggy. I would get around the bugs for the contact search by typing in the contact name and then back spacing a few characters. Now, not even this works. No search results pull up when I search for a name in my contacts.
The second problem is I am no longer able to update UT. When I try to install update 94, I click install and reboot. After I do this, nothing happens. The new UT updates is not installed, and the phone does not reboot.OPO1

Did you try reinstall with ubports installer without whiping any data? -
@edward-wilhelm For me contact search has not worked for a long time, probably since I started using the OPO two years ago. I filed a bug report back then, but it looks I was the only one experiencing that at that time. I attributed it to having migrated from UT phone to UT phone, I've always copied my /home/phablet over to the new device when I changed, and the OPO is the fourth or fifth UT phone I have. I started using UT as daily driver when it was still a Canonical thing.
I've not been able to debug this problem, sometimes after an OTA update it works the first time and then it stops working.
Are you syncing with Google contacts? I am, may be that is the problem, I don't know.
By the way, somebody should move this thread to the OPO subforum. -

@Edward-Wilhelm for the second part of your problem, maybe one update was downloaded on top of an already downloaded one. This is a bug affecting all devices. In order to clean this, please install the UT Tweak Tool from the Openstore, then open it, authenticate with your PIN.
Then, on the upper left corner, use the menu to switch to Apps and Scopes (BTW we need to remove that Scopes here ^^) and open the system settings entry.
Then you have a delete button with three dots: Click it. Now you can select what to delete: Delete the application data.
Then, open system settings. It should offer you again the last update, but this time you should be able to install it.

@lakotaubp I did that and I don't have problems authenticating to Google, the problem is searching for contacts within the Contact app, this hasn't worked for me since long ago. Sometimes it works once after logging out and in again from the Google contacts account, but it stops working immediately and the search of contacts does not work any more. This has happened to me since long ago, and also in my previous daily driver which was a Nexus 5. I suspect that it is related to copying the home folder over from device to device, I think I've done this in all my installations.
Now my OPO has also given up, the sim slot is damaged, so I will have to move to a new device as daily driver.
