@lakotaubp I post it as i have the most contacts with Volla, but mebay it's better to put it in general indeed. Thanks!
-
@xray2000 Sorted
-
@lakotaubp Ok thanks i will post here from time to time an update about the project.
-
@xray2000 Hi, this is a great idea. Would it be possible to additionally open a donation window (donations earmarked for Anbox improvements) at the UBPorts foundation?
-
@gt You can always donate to UBports, But why we do this we one push anbox development, it only takes alot time fulltime to do the research and everything and i have this time the UBports core devs and Florian has other work to do so we just try to help here on our own way.

Update 1
Hi,
At the moment we are talking with a developer about how we can start to work on Anbox.
Greetings,
Rudi -
@xray2000 Nice !
-
Update 2
On this moment we will ship a developer device to the dev, as soon he has got that he can start working on Anbox.
-
@xray2000 Just a quick thought: I don't see the banking issue being solved through anbox. Even lineageOS won't run most banking apps, even with microG or Gapps for some... Our only hope is that banks will, for some unlikely reason, start to develop for UT. We shouldn't give people false hopes
-
@emphrath My bank app is work perfect on Anbox, but we do everything step by step not rushing will make more bugs...
What i will say is we try to fix everything as possible....
-
@xray2000 You're lucky ! Did you have to install Gapps or sth ?
-
@emphrath No our bank app works without gservices.
-
The device is shipped to the developer now we have to wait when it is there and then the work on Anbox can be started....
-
Update 4
We are pleased to announce that a first 200 Usd payment has been shiped to the developer. She's delighted to start to work on Anbox very soon.
Thank you for your donation that will help us to achieve this task.
Please join us and keep up to date! -
"Quick update from April 9 2021:
As previously announces, a Volla phone working device has been shipped to the developer.
The smartphone is currently blocked by the Customs Service of the Russian Federation for administrative reasons.
We are working hard with our local partners to get the device to the recipient as soon as possible.Thank you for your patience.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all contributors for your generous participation in this fantastic project.
The campaign continues. Feel free to join us and stay up-to-date."

@xray2000 in the Russia they have introduced a slightly strange law, probably meaning versus Google Android and Apple iOS, according to this law into each saled smartphone must be installed with a Russian browser (any "russian" build :), a Russian search engine (Yandex), Russian email service (Mail.ru, etc...), Russian messenger (ICQ? ), and Russian social network (VK.com ?), Russian antivirus (Kasperskiy ?), Russian voice assistant (Yandex Alisa or Mail.ru Marusya), Gosuslugi service for communication with the gov., Mir payment system service (alternative to VISA and MasterCard), Russian cloud storage (Yandex Disk) and Russian software office (something based on "OpenOffice"). Otherwise there will be problems at customs. So we need someone to put it all together, at least in the form of Web-applications.
-
@markatrafik Volla found a way to ship it and normoly the dev would get it 14 april via DHL Express...
-
@markatrafik That's right, but I think this law (which is valid from April 1rst 2021) is related to the global sales market.
I don't think it applies to a single working device hopefully. -
Dear everyone,
Here's a fresh new update:
We are pleased to announce that our developer now has a fully working device. It's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, which she received from a member of this community right here! (Thank you @mardy )
As for the Vollaphone, it has been returned to the sender for legal customs reasons. Nevertheless, a new shipment will be sent to the developer's business address.
Anyway, work can now begin in earnest!
We are proud and happy to have raised over 3'000 Euros in donations at this stage. That said, the campaign continues, each participation brings us a little closer to our goal: Enabling decent use of Android applications in the Ubuntu Touch ecosystem.
All details are available here: https://gofund.me/acb31504
See you soon, for some new exciting updates.
Rudi & Steve

Very excited about this - fingers crossed chat applications with push notifications will at some point be supported, though I see how that might be challenging. Great initiative in either case.
And shout out to the anonymous donor who gave 2 500 euros earlier today.
