have to move to 4G/LTE
-
I've got a SMS from my provider here in Gemany, Fonic (I think O2 is behind it) saying that they move to 4G/LTE until the end of 2021. Does this mean I have to look for another provider?
-
@guru I've received the same from Telekom/T-mobile. The background is that the old 3G/UMTS-services are going to be turned-off to install more 4G/5G-services. Here in Germany the most providers are going to turn off the 3G-services in the middle of 2021.
This doesn't mean you have to switch to another provider or to other hardware. It only means, that from the pojnt of turn-off you can only use 2G/4G/5G instead of 2G/3G/4G/5G. If your device (BQ E4.5?) only can handle 2G/3G, you can still phone and surf with 2G (of course internet is slower, but still usable for basic things). -
WIFI will be always usable with bq 4.5 and will still allow to use a good internet connection.
