First of all, Can I still use netflix and spotify?
Second, Can I revert back to android if it breaks?
Third, Do I really need root to know if my phone is incompatible? It displays "NVT-ts" on the Touchscreen row.

Yes you can download the original rom for your phone and flash it back.
Depending on your phone and if you can find the original rom of course.Third, Do I really need root to know if my phone is incompatible? It displays "NVT-ts" on the Touchscreen row.
I don't know about needing root for anything. But it is specific to your device...

@applee Cheers! How about anbox? Can I use that to install Netflix? And can I revert back to not being rooted when an app fails? I read somewhere that some apps might not work correctly if the device is rooted. Again, Thanks in advance!

There is no "root" under uTouch. -
@keneda In the Mi A2 device page, it says that JDI panels aren't supported and the only way to identify if its compatible is by using an app that requires a rooted phone.

Under android you must root to use app to sort what panel you have, but when under uTouch, there is not the android "root" anymore.
You talk about anbox, anbox is not affected by your previous android system, rooted or not.
Installing uTouch will erase all of the previous file system, including personal data, configs and root, from android. -

I remember reading something about this.
If you want to be sure that the screen (IIRC) is compatible then you can install this app on a rooted android.
But one can also try to install Ubuntu Touch. If you get the same error then it is always possible to revert back to android.You have to understand that after installing Ubuntu Touch reverting to android is not an "undo" kind of operation. We get rid of android and one can install it back from and official image (or even alternative ones).
About anbox and Netflix, I don't really know. Hardware acceleration over anbox is not possible yet. But it might work, I don't use anbox.

@keneda @AppLee Thanks for the answers! Sorry for the root confusion. It was supposed to be a different question, not related to the anbox. But still thanks for the answer. It seems like I won't be installing Ubuntu Touch for now. The pros just doesn't outweigh the cons for me, and I can't really give up some proprietary services. Thanks for the help though! I'll be keeping an eye for the upcoming updates. Cheers!

Hi, sorry I don't know.
I don't own this phone and from what I can read here Xiaomi are well supported, but are a pain in the butt to install at first.I'd say, if you already have this device you can try to install Ubuntu Touch and see if it fails :man_shrugging:
If you don't have the device yet, I'd suggest to opt for other device but it will depend deeply on your needs and how you feel about the installation effort.
