        Very strange: I switched from devel to rc a couple of days ago to support OTA 19. This morning I had to face the fact, that every sms I sent/got to one specific contact have gone 😞 specific means: the person I sms the most with.
        Has someone an idea where the sms may have gone to and how to bring them back???
        ah, I switched back to devel, now that =TA 19 has come aout, but no change...

          Is it possible ypu deleted it by accident? I really hope not. You can maybe check the database and open it with an sqlite3 database viewer. The file is at ~/.local/share/history-service/history.sqlite.

          I wish you good luck and I recommend you backup important files somewhere. UT isn't good with backing up yet but there are options like UBsync and Syncthing.

            @kugiigi thanks for your answer - the lost sms aren´t in the database nomore... so you´re prbably right, I must have deleted them by accident. I didn´t realize until the moment that it´s only one swipe, isn´t it?
            sigh

              I'm afraid it was an accident. This arrived to me two times before I understood the problem. I wanted to delete a message but deleted all the contact messages. This is because the Call history and the SMS history are displayed in a very similar way but are not managed the same way. It's easy to be confused by that.

              Sorry for you

                @pulsar33 @kugiigi there is a function in the "Dekko 2"-app (for example) that allows you to undo the deletion of a mail. I think it would be very useful to have this function in the sms-app as well. What do you think? And where is the right place for such a proposal?

                  @messayisto
                  You can "undo" a mail deletion because when you delete a mail it goes in the trash bin of your mail account not in Dekko.
                  You can go directly to the webmail of the account and do the same, restore from trash any mail you deleted.

                    @messayisto I think what can be done is by putting a timed undo delete button. Kind of similar to dekko too so at least you'll see that you deleted something and there's still a chance to undo it. You can log it here https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/
